Just picked up a complete Quad Rotor setup from a member here, (great guy to deal with, I might ad) to replace the undersized 2.3l setup I had on the 509. Noticed that it has engine oil blower lubrication fittings for feed and returns, instead of just filling up blower.
Would like to find out best way to plumb this , as Whipple has no info, or any install/setup instructions available...

Nice piece!
The easiest and most popular supply is the remote oil filter, make sure you grab a port that's after the filter
Return is really wherever you want. Some like to put it right back to the pan, others are lazy and do a valve cover

Thank you for posting this question as I am also building a quad rotor set-up for the first time and have the same questions. You're right whipple really didnt want to say anything about the quad rotor set-up besides the fact that they are old and I should just buy a newer blower. I dont think the new stuff has nearly half the wow factor as these things have.
I have heard you can convert them to self contained but i havent seen any just heard of one person doing it.

Glad to see someone else shares the enthusiasm for this setup! I wouldn't even try to go self contained, due to the fact that the way the blowers sit on the pented roof adapter, which caused the higher gear to be starved of oil, and chewed up the gear. Are you using the Carbureted system? I noticed that the new quad system has both blowers sitting level., i'm an old school Holley guy, so I have to have the 1150 Dominators...
Also can't believe the blower pulleys are $220.00 each....mine came with 4", I need 4.5" as I'm down 50ci from what they were on originally .I'll keep posting my progress,as short block is almost complete,
And the AFR''s are ready to go ..

For what its worth my quad Whipples worked great. I bought them used and Eddie Young put the engines together. I ran them self contained and never had an issue with them. I just changed the oil every year. I'm not advocating this, just my experience. I did have a pulley stud that broke. ARP made a upgraded piece for this. Eddie liked to run them with moderate amount of boost as the fuel distribution at low RPM was really bad at low boost.

Yes, mine have carburators as well. After doing as much research as I could and using the estimated air consumption formula for my cubic inch and desired boost # I am going with 1050's. I won't be running the 2.3's that hard for the RPM and HP I am looking to get so the 1050's should be fine but the dyno doesn't lie.
I have a couple sets of pulleys but will likely keep them until after it gets dyno'd to see what I need. Looks like your build will be complete a little before mine but i can still reach out to you if you'd like to see if you may want them at that time.

As for Oiling for the Quads the self contained oil route works fine, just change every 20 hours. These engines went to total rebuild with the Whipples with no issues. Reason for rebuilds was water ingestion and corrosion. Whipples (3.3s) checked out fine. These make 15 psi of boost at 7000RPMs. Having a lot more hp that can be made on originaly built 565cu/in Teague 1400's if going to race gas. But why outdrives are maxed out at this point.

As the topic reads, engine oil feed to superchargers, not input shaft failure. Just has not happen to me yet.
All is Good
