Well I pulled the trigger, scarab is out and a super nice 1989 311 is mine, just picked it up yesterday and gonna tow home today, came with a virtually brand new triple axel trailer, it’s a 2017 trailer the guy I got it from put it on the trailer and unfortunately got sick and never used it. The boat has no motor or drives. The transom’s is excellent with no rot, the guys plan was to put his motor and drives from another boat into and got very sick and never got it done.
the boats gel coat and interior is in great shape, the previous owner apparently had whipped big blocks and it has all gaffrig gauges, went over it and it’s nice that the wiring isn’t all hacked up, only saw a couple loose wires, overall great score, will be dropping in my 388 Sbc and cutting transome for my Volvo drives. Will try and add pics.

The one thing I hate about boats is trailering nice to have a brand new trailer nice triple axel new tires never seen the water yet, the old ford 7.3 dually tows so nice, the 1999 ride a little harder than new trucks but with the 6speed manual it’s all bulletproof, the truck only has 125 thousand miles on her and I tell my wife she can bury me in it. She’s 8500 pounds of American steel before manufactures started using offshore parts, although working on it is a mystery as have of the bolts are metric? Anyways more to come as I get into it

Paid 10,500 so hopefully it’s all good, I figure a brand new triple axel worth have the price alone. And I have 90% of drive train, stroked Sbc to 388 aluminum heads aluminum water manifolds, aluminum water pump(I love aluminum) and just in case I have 2 magnuson superchargers in my bedroom closet that were looking for a home.

Most everything looks pretty good, towed home in a rain storm and cabin was nice and dry, OMG I love a brand new trailer, just finding space for the old girl then dig into engine compartment and get the electric hatch working, the hatched way a ton, nice and padded engine covers
