Yes, Skater builds their boats with a mix of coring materials - which includes balsa and marine plywood (transoms). That's why Skaters hold up so much better to accidents than all the others. I've heard it said from almost every guy in the industry that the crew in the Freedom One 388 that went over at 200+ mph were lucky they were in a Skater.
