I'm too am considering building a tubine boat. I would like to use a 1500hp single turbine in a 36' cat. Who can help me without killing my budget? I can do alot of things myself but would like professional help for the safety aspect. Some people say $50,000 to help and some say $150,000 turnkey. Please advise, Thanks!

We did a 38cougar with twin ge t58s . The best advice I can give you is to contact Howard or Ric at Aernson in calf. Nothing for these things is cheap. Plus, I think they are not really a Pleasure boat. All depends what you are looking for. Good luck

Byron,
I'm right there with you. The reason I posted on the 300hp Allison project was to get some experience with turbines at a reasonable price. I'm not sure if you can build a big turbine boat on a budget. Check out the Nye link on the T58 and Allison boat projects. I learned how little I knew about using one of these in a boat.
If your budget allows, you may be better off just buying a turbine boat ready to go. Blowing up one of thses engine can be an expensive lesson.
