Default Merc steering valve, witch one better,old style or Brazil

I have someone selling a new brazil style steering valve at a good price is it worth converting my old style over to a new Brazil type. Is there anything I need to adapt the new one to the old set up?????? Thanks

Paul, the fittings on the hoses are differant. What year are you replacing?

1988 and i just got a new high presure hose. should I just leave it alone
