Arrow OT: Calling all scanners !!!!!!

Well....the wife finally wore me down, and I'm buying a scanner. I started to do some research and, HOLY CHIT , there's a ton of them out there......

So, I turn to my OSO breathren for help. I do want high quality, prefferably 2400x1200, but don't want payment to equal the national debt. Also, I don't want a 3in1 or 4in1, just a dedicated scanner.

Thanks for the help..........

Don't spend over $150. Most scans will be at 100 dpt resolution if you want to email a photo.

2400x1200 would be a huge file and only good for printing a photo on a color printer.

Get one that does OCR. This will allow you to scan a written document into word so you can edit it.

I really appreciate the offer, very much, but I'm looking for a new model, with a little more "stuff". By the way, how does the scanner work on your 3in1??

Anyone else have any suggestions???

Damn ...you mean I can't even give this thing away..?? 3 in 1 is an HP PSC2210 ....haven't used the scanner yet ...last years model worked just fine though.. although the deal that pushes the paper out of the copier had issues...sometimes the paper would get caught on the arm that pushes it out...actually guess it is a 4 in 1...also has a cam card slot for uploading digital pics ...makes proof sheets and such ...pretty cool.

Hey Nasty, if Risk Taker does't claim it, I'll come get it. I haven't bought one because I don't have much use, but for that price!
