Default OT: Black tie or evening club attire?

I have free tickets to AutoModo2003 an after party for the opening of the Detroit Auto show. It is at the Roostertail and on the tickets it says black tie or evening club attire. Well I understand black tie is a tux , but what is evening club attire ? I would like to go but don't want to rent a tux and I don't have an all black suit. Just wondering what will be accepted there? I obviously don't go to many of these event's.

Get one of those t-shirts that look like a tux. They'll let you in.

My understanding is;
Black tie means tux perferred but black suit is a must. Evening attire means any color suit.
