This is for a 2003 38' Lightning that goes 70 mph top speed, they won't write anything over 70. Also won't write OT's or AT's on the online options...We're just getting an idea of what ins will be.

Who is the best ins. co. to deal with on Hi-Po boats like these? I met a kid one day that said his policy was $5k for the year on the same type of boat as this...Why would it be this much for a 55 y/o man with perfect credit and everything else???

In addition to all the usual costs with hi performance boats, etc; one of the biggest penalties you are paying for is the outdrives. The same value boat (with less performance naturally) with V-drives or direct drives will cost you much less...

For comparison, I just paid $4200 for a 99 35 lightning. That's for 12 months as we use it in Florida in the winter and New Jersey in the summer.
