The motors are out and one undressed!
So here's my next question:
When driving, I'll admit, I'm a wimp... so I like to stay trimmed down as much as possible... I know, bad for gas mileage. Will the new engines ( 2 540s in place of 2 454s) have any effect on the power trim/trim tabs?
Thanks!

No. They will have an effect on the way the boat feels. The boat will cruise at less throttle with greater ease. If you can stay out of the secondaries, you may be able to cruise with less fuel consumption at the same speed. And don't be afraid to trim up. When the boat is down, it'll feel really heavy and will try to bow steer. With a bit of trim, the boat will handle better. Just go in stages. Bump up and run it for a while to get a feel. Then bump it up again and see how it reacts..

Your boat will handle and perform better if trimmed up. This does not mean trim to the point where it will porpus(sp) or be jumpy. There is an optimum trim for every boat. With new power it will take some seat time to find your new ideal trim level.
