I have an opportunity to by one...43000 mile clean as a whistle.
Resale red , tan leather...all the toy , bells , and buttons. OK to to 8000lb 29 ft boat? Or should I have get even longer wheel base? Use it daily for work so a dually is out , my tolls would total $9.00 a day compared to $2.70.Give me the down side of diesels.

Also a buddy of mine has a 93 4dr dually that rides like a buck board or maybe worse. Would this be as bad (shorter wheel base) Or have they improved the ride since then?

I have a 99 and it does ride better than a friend of mines 95.

I have a 99 PSD F-350 supercab, which is almost the same length. I tow my 30' Sonic no problem, about 7500 lbs. No downside to the diesel!! The noise is not bad.

I have a '99 F350 PSD x cab, short bed (not sure if it's the '99 or '99.5). It pulls my 28' without a problem, it could certainly handle much more. The ride is fine, don't worry about the wheelbase, but the engine is a little noisy IMHO. It is hard to start when it gets real cold too. It actually stranded me at the airport a couple of weeks ago when it was below 0 That made me question diesels that night. However, if I had it to do over again, I'd get the same truck...go for it.

I have a 99 and it s great.I have the 4 dr with the long bed and tow a 32 foot cat with no problems.Here is a tip for all of you Diesel guys that I learned the hard way.I am an airline pilot and my truck will sit at the airport for a week or so.This last cold snap I got off a trip and went to start my truck and it would turn over but not fire.It was early in the am so I took a cab home(60 bucks).When I got home I told my girlfriend about it and we called her Dad who is a retired Diesel mechanic who had his own shop for over 25 years.He told me if you cannot plug in your truck during the cold to turn the ignition on and wait for the "wait to start" light to go out, then turn the ignition off and do it again,turn it off and do it a third time and a fourth and on the fourth time crank it over and it will fire up.Back to the airport I go and I do what he says and it fired right up.What happens is when it is cold soaked the engine block takes the heat right from the glow plug unless you heat it up real good by cycling the ignition.Do not make it a regular practice but he said every now and then will not hurt a thing.

I also have a 99 X Cab 4 X 4 and pull a 28 Nordic Heat. I pulled it from Texas to Canada last summer 32 hrs straight up, 1800 mi. I only turned it off when we refueled. The truck towed great throughout the power range. We topped 90 Mph on some long straight aways. I have a triple Axle trailer and it tracked real well, didn't have to worry at all and once we got going it was like it wasn't even there.

I wish I had of got the Crew Cab, the small back seat is NOT comfortable. With the front seat all the way back the passengers in the back have very little leg room.
