Posted a similar question last week, Highway freight was good CA to FL $360-00 Business pick up to business drop off. Pick up or drop off at residence jumped the price to 584-00. They used class 70 for the motor. Most Co. want the motors crated on 4 way pallate.
Also another OSOer recommended a guy that moves boats around by the name of James 832-264-8454, he was in Fl last week but was headed North this week.
Call around as prices I got were as high as $800-00, found a Co. that would do it for $200-00, really pleased as they were prepared to go out of their way to help that I paid $300-00 for the extra effort.

Dean...common carrier,you bring to their warehouse they place it in a trailer,no tie downs...if it moves it moves and same goes at destination, you pick it up unless you have a loading dock or hi-low. When you go with a Van Lines it's door to door,you engines are tied into the walls,protected...thats what you pay the extra for!
