Default We delivered a baby today!

Our crew was called to an OB call on a woman who was 9 months prego and had been to the hospital this morning and they told her she wasn't ready yet. Well right after she got home she was ready.

When we came in the baby's head was sticking out so we got all our stuff ready to go and about 10 min later there was a healthy 7.5 lb baby girl. Everyone did a great job and everthing went well.

In nearly 20 years in the fire service this was my first baby.

Happened like that to my sister-in-law. Called the OB up and they're like, "You've got hours to go before you can come in". 45 minutes later they were parents.

You should be showcased on KCTV 5 news tonight. No live footage please.

I almost delivered one when I was a paramedic. The head was crowned, we arrived at the ER door and the Doc opened our doors, stepped up to the plate, I moved over, she pushed once and delivered. Everything went as planned, I just had to relinquish the catcher's mit at the last moment. So...close but no cigar!
