Saw the new 280 Suncruiser at the Detroit boat show...
#1
Just got back from the Detroit boat show - the PQ dealer had a 300 Revenge, 380, and the new 280 and 320 Suncruisers. The 300 Revenge was nice - definitely bigger than the 280 Silencer we had. We looked long and hard at the 280 SC, as that is the type of boat we looking for... nice, but there were a couple of things that left me scratching my head. The biggest is the placement of the handrail for the walkthrough windshield - it curves out and blocks the walkway into the cabin. I almost whacked my head on it with the boat sitting on dry land, I can guarantee someone would end up with a lump if the boat was in the water.
The boat at the show had twin 350 Mags (nice!), but it was priced almost $30K more than the Formula 280SS that was there. Granted, the Formula had 5.0's, but $30K is alot for an extra 50 hp a side...
Oh, if anyone is shopping, the guy at the show told me that Skipper Bud's in Holland, MI, has a 2002 or 2003 34' Vyper, twin 500HPs, list price ~$180K, going for $129K. Thought someone might be interested... I think Skipper Bud's has a website.
