B cups or C cups, which do you prefer? Can you be a little more specific? How about the 502? Are you looking for maintenance issues, upgrade potential, fuel types, etc. I think to get the answer you are looking for you need to ask the questions.

Baddog- I would have to say C or D cups And if i had my choice-- bigger is better,-- no substitute for cubic inches.

Ahhh, then the question should be 509/502, 540 or 572! I am just waiting for someone to make the A reference.

I'm debating the same question....to stroke or not to stroke that is the question . I think I'm going to stay with the 4" stroke and build 509's next. The torque that strokers make brings to mind the reliability of the drives.....my boats far from new and unless I throw a bunch of money at my drives It wont be reliable my .02....

Just trying to make around 600hp n/a with 89 octane. Which will give reliability and best efficiency. Doesn't the 509 have to turn higher rpms to make power? It seems that most buyers of today are leaning towards 540s yet the 509 has been around a while.

you can make the 600 with the 509 pretty easy the 89 octane might be a issue....
