I hear they also are working with Baja on a new V-hull. I think they use each other for certin methods of building boats and their skills on certin parts of building the boat as well as the factory sizes. just my .02 it's like my buddy owned a Mazda 4x4 years ago but it had a Ford motor in there.

Timucan; Why? Because Skater is the best out there.

CAP071; It started out as a joint venture between Skater/Baja, but I believe that it is just Skater's project now.

Years ago when I worked for saturn the car compnay I was down in Tenn Factory. I seen a few Mercruiser motors outboards they said they were working with them on the "lost foam casting methods" If you look at a saturn engine block it looks like its made from styro foam They said they used this technology from Mercruiser It's not uncommon today for buisness's to share technology for a price.

I know Skater was building some of Fountain's specialized boats a few years back, but I thought there was some sort of falling out between the two companies----unless Skater is now back to building boats for them again. I live 20 minutes away from the Skater factory and drive by there location periodically.

I don't think Skater is still building boats for Fountain. The Pier 57 boat from last year is one of the ones from the original partnership.
