I read that the "beauty" car used for close up filming is an original Hemi convertable (one of only 14 made). There are three others built to look just like it but are powered with 340's and used for the stunt and chase scenes.

Good old Don looks a little heavier than in the Miami VIce episodes that run on TNT these days. He needs a Big old American V-8 to carry that. He probably wouldn't fit in the Testarosa anymore.
