Default Barn Collapse's On Boat

Hello;

Can any one put me in touch with a supplier or vender for windshields.

A friend of mine has a 1988 Donzi. It has a three piece tempered, tinted glass windshield. The roof collapsed on the boat this weekend. I don't have a model or make.

The windshield has one major crack down the middle. What are his options. Can it be fixed? Or does it have to be replaced for saftey reasons.

Any help would be appreciated so close to the boating season.

Thank You

Brian

You may want to check that it's actually tempered glass.
Tempered is designed to shatter into lots of tiny pieces - not crack. ( I'm not an expert on this but this is what I know from the construction and window industry). I know that heat can take the "temper" out of glass ( I.E. - fireplace glass doors.)

I'm only posting this so you wind up with a correct color match/tint on the new piece. I'd do some homework to find out the exact material you are replacing. I'm sure there are labels in the lower corners of the panels.

I'd recommend www.donzi.net as well - a site of Donzi freaks, fans, and gurus. Lots of Donzi-only goodness over there...

Default Aluminum 2000

Just did a repair on a small ski boat. The original supplyer of the windshield has gone out of business, so had to look for someone who could make one from scratch. They did a good job for me.
