Default skater 28 W/ twin 2.5 Prop iNfo.

Can anybody recommend a set of props for this boat? What are the best props to use? The motors are brand new 2003 2.5 just looking for some suggestion on a good set of props and if anybody has a set or know where to get them.

I don't know much about the setup of these boats, but I've seen a bunch of them running the mercury cleaver. The ones with the funny little cup on the inside trailing edge.

cri331, My friend has the same boat with 2.5's on it. You want to run Mercury Offshore Cleavers in a 30" pitch. Mount the motors so there is a space of 2 1/4" between the top of the transom and the bracket on the saddle. If you have one of the motors with a left hand drive, mount it (or that lower unit) on the left hand side of the boat. You want to be turning your props outward. Also, you will benefit from labbing these props. You will be very impressed with the acceleration of this package. Sorry you didn't post this sooner. My friend just sold a labbed pair of props 3 weeks ago. He is selling the 28 Skater (1997) without power if you know of anyone interested contact me. I'll be posting an ad for him when he gets some pictures. Hope this helps in your rigging, these boats are amazing! Steve

I also agree that Mecury "lab" cleavers are the best prop for that boat. 15x30 or 15x32 three blades work great. Get the labbed props from Mercury hi-perf.
