Default Ok, on a 27-28' PowerBoat what do you recommend?

Hi,

My old boat was a Donzi 22, and I'd like something a bit larger, but still a dayboat runabout. I'm thinking that something in the 27' range would be a good boat.

Tried to track down a Bertram 28 (my uncle had one), but unable to find one.. Have looked at Magnum 27's.. there is a really rough one for sale near me (a sedan), and there is a very sweet one for sale this week on ebay item #2406212253 . (Any thoughts on the Magnum 27's). Also I heard Cigarette made a 28...

What do you guys think, I am new to this, and could use some advice or a steer to a good boat at a fair price if you know someone selling.

The rough Magnum Sedan needs new power, has anyone ever powered one with a pair of the new economical v6's? What does it really cost to add new engines/drives to a boat (that has had its engines removed..)

It depends on your requirements. Speed, Cabin, single, twins, amenities, etc.

Boats I like in that size range .....

28 Pantera
27 Activator
Kryptonite
27 Progression
28 Velocity
30 Superboat

Well if you want a Cig..try Sean's old boat. If it's still available that's one nice boat.

or you could go with a custom made 28 Pantera

If you are thinking of powering with v6's you are not concerned with top end, I wouldn't consider pulling old motors and replace with new ones unless you get a screaming deal on the boat????

What is your price range? Is the cabin important? I would say you can not go wrong with a Formula. Take a look at the boats for sale and look for PhantomCaos's 312. The length includes the platform so it is about in the range you are looking for and it is in MINT shape and a steal at that price.

Default What would a screaming deal be on a Magnum Sedan

What would you consider a Screaming deal on a Magnum Sedan, a 27... If it were "yellow" not my favorite color, and has old TRS outdrives that look beat on the back but no power...

Some other possibilities are the Formula Cruisers.

I've driven the Pantera and Velocity. The Velocity will be faster, but he Pantera will absolutely CRUSH waves. Depends on what your interests are.

I agree with 24 Panterra, check out Seans old 28 Cig, I believe it belongs to Dreamer now. Sweet deal I think.
