I usually change valve springs every season , I run the Comp cams 955-16 installed @2.000" They seem to loose 20 or so lbs by the end of the season so I want to upgrade to a spring that will last a few seasons. Any recomendations ?
The cam is .680 lift and I spin the motor 5800.
I need something that is around 250 on the seat and 625 open.

I have been hearing some good things on the Isky #9705 part #
they are h-11 tool steel 250lbs seat at 1.950 and 675lbs at1.200
they should hold up well

As long as your springs are within 15% of the original seat pressures you are fine. Springs will sag close to 10% almost immediately after they are put on. I would just check them all to be sure you don't have any really sagging. I switched to to Erson springs (I'll get you the part #) they are 270# on the seat and around 750# opening. Erson makes even a lighter spring that lasts 5X's longer than comps. Wette Vette probably knows the part # off the top of his head.

I understand that they will loose a little put I think I'm pushing it with not having enough spring pressure to begin with so If I loose any I don't want to risk floating a valve.
I'd also like to find something that is installed at 2.000" , it's such a pain in the ass to have to remeasure and reshim while the motor is in the boat. Also 750 over the nose might be a little too much.

750 opening is too much for your application, its good for 7500rpm in my 632. Erson makes a spring that is around 240 seat and 600 ish opening though that lasts even longer than mine. i would talk with someone knowledgable on the issue for your application. Steve Tanzy @ Erson is awesome...but tough to catch up with during NHRA season. Also, Gordon at Comp cams is very good.
