I hang my head in shame, as I am a transplanted canadian and wonder what my old country stands for. I thank my lucky stars everyday that I'm south looking north at their problems. God Bless America and the Troops.

Walker said it right! What a shame that we have to have a jackass for a prime minister-- he cannot be gone too quickly, and I hope he takes a bunch of his kind with him,-- we should make him retire in Iraq!

Great editorial.
Thanks Fed.
Mr. Walker's editorial is a sound foray into reality as there is every now and then in the Canadian press.
You guys have to know that the media in Canada is as much Liberal if not more than it is here in the US and the biggest network company is owned by the Canadian Government, CBC (my sister is an attorney over there), and projects just has here some influence on the general population by promoting there very liberal agenda. It is a Government organization in direct competition with the private sector (as is Petro-Canada in the oil business), this kind of free enterprise impairment and taxes lead to exoduses.
Canada however is burden even more than here with regulations, levies and taxes to finance an unrealistic welfare and social wealth redistribution system, these regulations have made so any individual that has the means reassesses the wisdom off contributing to such a skewed system. The people that leave are the ones with the drive and resources to create jobs and contribute taxes if they were reasonable. In my family three of the four kids now declare official residence in the US, and pay our taxes here on revenues at times derived from Canadian business transactions and consulting, all of us received educations that were subsidized again by the Government and thus was a lot cheaper to us at the moment than comparable to here in the US, yet as free individuals in North America the choice of were we do our business is only limited by our imagination (and regulations!), and we choose the US in order to get a better arrangement. This deprives Canada of the taxes we pay here in the US and has the US benefit from our contribution to the economy whether buying boats!, gas, employing individuals and so forth…
Canadians are the greatest people just as here in the US but there entrenched liberal and somewhat socialistic system will always hold them back to thrive economically on the world stage and these beliefs transcend to the Canadian’s government current position on the actions of the US in the war on terrorism, unfortunately.
Here in the US is the best place to live in the world. When I decided to move out of Canada in 1991 the US was the only choice and there isn’t even a second choice on the horizon (I believe all this and I have a house in Vermont!!!). Thank you all for your incomparable hospitality.
G.L. Harvie
PS: Now I am going back to my resolution of a few weeks back not to talk about politics here anymore!

Good comments GLH. I left Canada in 1989 and agree with most of your observations. USA is the best!
