Default Drill out Low Water B1 = DWP?

The chain of lakes we boat on has many shallow areas that are full of muck. It gets pretty old emptying the sea strainer repeatedly.

Has anyone drilled out a low water pick up Bravo 1 to replicate a dual water pick up? I realize it won't have the lead ins that are formed into the casting, but it is my belief that as the drive gets stuck into muck it will draw from the upper holes. Eventually as you continue driving the low water holes should clear?

Boat is a stepped hull Donzi so I don't want to totally close off lower holes due to aeration issues at speed.
