change boat name, Bad luck?
#1
After I get the boat painted I was considering changing the name, I'm not superstitious, but has any one ever heard that changing the name on your boat is bad luck. Quite a few people have told me this. Does anyone have any interesting stories?

As the legend goes. You should only change the name when the ownership changes hands. It's also bad luck to have green on the boat and of course, never carry bananas. Other than that.. it's smooth sailing.. pardon the use of the word "sailing" on this board.

my boss refurbished a 50' hinkley sailboat and his sister was paranoid about bad luck. we had to go through a complete renaming ceremony to prevent bad things from happening. it took 2 minutes. she was happy and nothing bad has happened to the boat.

Try those links regarding the "luck" factor for the skeptics.

Warpaint:
1st off Ike named the boat Warpaint after we had an after work party with many a beer consumed. ( I thought of it !!!)
Maybe you should change the name...with the history in the last 4 years!!!
