Default Went flyin on Sat.

Six of us went skydiving for the first time on Sat.

Wow what a rush, 60 seconds of freefall, the 7 minutes of gluiding.

I jumped a couple years ago. 13,000 feet. I did Accelerated Free Fall, where you go thru all day training, and jump on your own, with two instructors holding on to you. It was a RUSH! In 25 years of jumping, this place never had an mishap... until me.

My chute was not packed tight enough, and did not deploy on its own, as the drag chute was deployed. I was looking at my altimeter waiting/wondering when I was going to get yanked. My instructor was still hanging on to my ankle and arm. I was just about to cut away my main chute, and go to reserve, when he grabbed the lines from my main shoot, and 'popped' them out of the opening of my chute bag. (All on video). Instead of free falling only about 5000-5500 feet as planned/instructed, I free falled about 7500 feet before deploying, and floating the rest of the way in. It was awesome. We free fell so long my videographer free fell for a bit longer, and when he pulled his chute, he caught a wierd draft, and ended up in a baseball field about a mile away; so my landing was not caught on video.

It truly was awesome, but I do not see myself signing up again too soon.

I tried it once 20 years ago .Round parachute on a tether that opened up after a few seconds .It was also a windy day one friend broke his tail-bone and one broke an ankle,I ended up in one piece.I have not tried it again.
