I've got 2 friends with tournament ski boats that use these things exclusively. They try to use them when rafting, too.

I hate em. Give me a real rope, preferably triple braid.

They probably work real well though in a slip, but I still like rope.

The thought I had was to use a one in conjunction with ropes to keep the boat pulled one way while still allowing for fee movement similar to a snubber line that larger vessels use.
