Lifting truck, around what drop will I need?

2002 4x4 Suburban 2500. 6" RCD lift, 35" BFG's, Extreme Trailers.

Am I right in calculating by adding 6" for the lift and maybe 2" from the tires? that would mean I need an 8" plus drop, right?

Boat and trailer are 4300 lbs dry, so I guess 5000 with gear and beer. Where is the best place to get a hitch that can handle my needs.

Oh and I need it in four days.

I have a chrome 10 inch drop. I got it at the once famous "Truck Toys" in Irvine. Its now a 4 wheel parts. They may have them. If your in OC its close.

Know right where they are! What setup do you have that you need a 10" drop? How much weight are you towing?

I would have said your local farm supply store, but something tells me there's not alot of those where you live !!!!

Have a local U-Haul store close? They make hitches, might be able to make one for you. With 10" of drop, will it need side struts?

To start, set the trailer at the hight you want it add 3 inches to it, that should be close to where you need the ball at. Without knowing what spring's you have or if your using a block should be a good guess.

Actually, I was just thinking that the rear of the Suburban always seems a couple of inches higher than the front. To level the truck, the rear will probably only take 4" blocks. I might get away with a 7-8" drop.

I have a Chevy crewcab with a 6 inch super lift, running 37 inch Hummer tires. I tow a 26 American Offshore with about 400 lbs of tongue weight. No problems at all. The drop hith I have is a custom one that is all boxed in. Its not just a drop down bar. The offroad shops are more popular for this type. The trailer places normally just have the regular black ones and it may be hard to fid one over 6 inches. Another place to try is Outlaw Offroad, also in Irvine accross from the auto center.

We run a Sub with a 6" lift and 35" tires here at the store. We have a 10" drop on it that seems to tow pretty level. Height will vary depending on trailer though.
