Question How do you clean a helmet that has been in salt water?

I need some help here-- anybody been tossed out of their boat while wearing a helmet? What's the best way to go about getting it cleaned up afterward?

We rinsed out the helmet thoroughly with fresh water then let it dry out completely in the hot sun. It was stored with a bar of soap inside to help eliminate any "smell" that may have started. The com system had to be replaced but the helmet was fine!
