OK, the motor is rebuilt and I want to redo the stock oil filter/cooler setup.
I completely removed the Merc remote oil filter mount and oil cooler and the adapter and all hoses.
What I want to do is to mount the oil filter right to the pad on the block and use the two holes which are now plugged just in front of the filter pad and tap into those and go to the remote oil cooler.
My question is do I have to do anything to the relief springs in the block? There are 2, one center and the other off-center.
And which is the in and out on those two holes just infront of the pad?
The engine rebuilder changed the relief spring I think the one offcenter from 11psi to 22-25psi Is that correct?
Thanks guys.

Marty - You need to get the tech sheet that tells you what to do when using the block's oil cooler hookup. Scoggin Dickey has the info @ 1 (800) 456-0211. Or if you PM your fax number I can fax you my copy. I would rather that than try to explain it here because it is complicated. Not only do you need the proper springs in the proper holes, you need a diverter fitting.
