Default Import Taxes?

I was curious if you bought a boat from anther country, like maybe Barbados and had a boat shipped over here. What kind of taxes or regulations would I incur? All help is greatly appreciated. I think I found my next boat.

If it was built in the US you should not pay duties any as long as you have a certificate of origin.

go to US customes website & check

For eons our IMPORT tax on boats was 33% of the invoice value.. NOT including shipping etc..Then it went up to 55% for about 10 years. Now back down to 33%

I doubt strongly that you've found your next boat here..... the seller would never be able to recoup that loss and you sure would'nt want to pick it up

ps .. Don't forget the $5.85 a gal gas too
