Thumbs down Kids these days.....rant

These kids these days.....

A kid in one of my classes keeps telling us about how he hates his dad because he is MAKING him drive the M-Class Mercedes SUV. Not a friday car, his everyday car. Now he is mad because his dad is taking it back because he wanted a bran new SVT Cobra. His dad said no after seeing the tires and brakes on the Mercedes. (bald and warped rotors). He also had to put those ricer tire LED calve caps on them too...they rusted into the rim. Since his dad has to fix (ie pay someone to do it) he is only giving him 10k to spend on a car. Of course, that isnt good enough. If I had ever done something like that or put crap on dads car, I would have gotten it..... These kids these day....God Help us in a few years when they run our country....

Sorry about his frickin luck, having to drive a free Benz

When I was 16 I got to drive my dad's 77 Dodge Ramcharger worktruck that was all rusted out.
Things sure have changed !
When I drive by the local high school now (cruising for chicks! Just kidding) the lot is 90% filled with year or two old cars.
It must be nice !

Yep, must be nice.
Good point 26 about the average age of kids cars these days....Hell, our school parking lot could have been mistaken for a junk yard with the only the occasional spoiled, rich brat's car.

I did not get my first car till I was 19 which was a 1974 VW Bug.

I had to work for my first car . My kids if I ever have some will have to work for it to. What pisses me off is seeing 13 and 14 year olds on cell phones .

Three kids 1 22yr old girl 1 22yr old boy (separate marriages) and a 19yr old boy if they wanted to drive they had to get a job and buy a car, and pay for there own insurance and gas. giving them a car and insurance teaches them nothing.

I bought a 4 door orange Malibu Classic from my grandfather when i was 17 (my license was suspened for a year because of underage drinking when i was 15). What a piece of chit that car was, but it lasted me a year until i could buy something half decent.

When I was 17, My dad and I were looking for cars in the $1000 dollar range. We ran across a guy selling a Jersey speed skiff for $1100. We bought the boat and I found an old 73 Impala for $250
I couldn't be happier driving that impala to the marina
