B1 question.
#1
There's a newsgroup that I frequent occasionally. There is currently a thread going on about all the different drives that Merc has out. One of the members just got done replying and informing us that the B1 is for all engines with 300hp or LESS. Subsequently, the B3 is what Merc puts on all their upper HP engines. ie..HP500 LOL.
I asked him how many Cigs, Fountains, Outlaws and Scarabs he had seen with a B3 on them. His response "almost all of them".
Anway, what is the B1 rated for from Merc?

The B3 is a dual prop, you don't see them on many boats that will run over 60. Merc does not rate the drives, at least as far as I know. You can only infer the ratings from the engines they are sold with.
