Has anyone bought one of these before? I was at Radio Shack yesterday and saw it. It looks prettty cool for $40. Just wondering how it ran.

Never seen it but if you click on In Store Coupon you get 50% off at the store. It's only $20. Worth a try...

Didn't see the coupon. I think I am going to pick it up. It should be pretty cool around the dock.

The coupon says it will run 280 fpm. By my calculations that's 3.18 mph... not bad for 20 bucks.

It reminds me of an RC boat I had when I was a kid. It was an 7.5cc outboard tunnel hull. I had less than $200 in it and it would run about 45mph. The cove that we used to run them at had a subdivision built behind it. It only took a few phone calls to the police and that was the end of that.

My 6 year old just got that for his Birthday from a friend. He loves it. The battery lasted about 15 minutes. Decent speed for the money. Good range. Tempted to buy a faster one for myself. Is gas powered the way to go?

Without a doubt, gas is the way to go. I think I was running 10% nitro. It was less than $20/gal, but it would last a long time. They are a ball.
