Does anyone know what it takes in swapping between these to motors. Will the engine mounts match up, wireing, etc.

Thinking of getting the 496 HO then putting on a whipple later on.

Any help would be great.

Most stuff won't swap ,,and if I was spending the money I'd go bigger than 496's and go with something non merc. to save money and get a much better more h.p. ,on &on !!!

I do know for a fact that the 6.2 does swap directly with the prior big blocks (454/502 Mag MPI). There was an article a couple of years back where BOATING magazine tested a 377 Scorpion (6.2L) vs a 454 Mag MPI in the same boat (24' Baja H2X). They swapped the engines in 45 mins at Lake X. Not sure about the 496's.
