"Up for bid is a Monogram Miami Vice Scarab Offshore Power Boat, out-of-production Kit No. 3104, copyright 1986. The box has been opened, but the kit is complete and unassembled. The box has some damage on the top right where the plain cardboard is showing, but overall is in very nice shape. The kit is a replica of the 38-foot long speedboat driven by Sonny Crocket and Ricardo Tubbs as they tracked down the bad guys in South Florida. When assembled the model is over 13 inches long. The kit includes two, 400 cubic inch Mercruiser V-8 engines that are molded into the engine compartment but have separate mufflers/exhaust, fan/pulley assembly and flame arresters and removable engine compartment cover. The cockpit includes a molded in rear seat and separate front bucket seats, separate instrument panel, keyboard, beverage tray, steering wheel, windscreen, fairing, throttles, and chrome railings. The numerous hatches and vents, railings, cleats, fuel cap and horns are all chrome plated. The rear of the boat features two detailed drive assemblies with chrome propellers. A separate stand is included to display the boat. The kit is molded in white with transparent gray with chrome-plated parts. The decal sheet includes colorful decals to match the pattern on the box top. This is a great kit of an unusual subject. I have never seen another one of these kits. Thanks for looking."
