OT: Rancho Shocks: Anyone use them ?
#1
Well, I think in the near future (after I replace the intake manifold gasket), I am going to put shocks on my truck. It is a 98, 1/2 ton dodge, with 110 K miles. I have considered the edelbrock IAS shocks, but I see a lot of the white RANCHO's on all kinds of different trucks. Right now, summit has buy 3 get one free.
1) Anyways, I'd like to know have any of you, or do you know wnyone that uses them?
2) Anthing you've heard bad about them ?
3) Any other suggestions ?
Thanks,
RJ

Hi there,
I had racho on my Jeep, but found them a bit hard, But there are rancho 9000 wich is adjustable with a knob on top, they are quite good.
The Best dampers for a reasonable prize is OLD MAN EMU
They are the best I have ever tested.
most of my friends, and me are using them now, and they are just great.
(ps not sure if you can get old man emu to your truck??)
Regards K.J

I have Rancho RSX's on my Chevy Tahoe (full Size). I like them. They are slightly stiff, but not bad. I have Ranco RS5000 on my Toyota Truck and they are very stiff. Wouldn't recomend the 5000's. They RSX's are better (more expensive). I heard the RSX's are like a set of RS9000's (adjustable) set to position #3. People on the Suburban/Tahoe website really seem to like the adjustable 9000's but they are realitivaly expensive compared to the RSX's.

I have 9000's on the PSD Excursion- changed the way the truck rode completely!
I also got in on a 4-for-price-of-three deal from Summit last year.
I would highly recommend the 9000's just because of the adjustability.

Got the nine position adjustable Rancho's, and love them. Just got the in-the-cab adjusters for them, but have not installed yet. I adjust the dampening depending on road, load, cross winds, driving styles, and may never go back to non-adjustable shocks on a truck again.
