502 & 496 heads . will they fit on the same block

502 & 496 heads . will they fit on the same block
I was told that you can us either same exhaust for a 502 and a 496 . So i was wondering if 502 or 454 heads will fit on a 496????

No, the 496 is a completely new generation of GM big block. THe heads are bigger and HEAVIER. Although I believe u can use the standard L-29 bearings and I believe the rods are the same length, I believe the similarities stop there. It is, in my opinion, superior to the Gen-6 stuff, not to say the Gen-6 stuff isn't good stuff.
