I just did that on my Cafe I had 2 sets of 3 blades Mirage 23P and would hit 5050 (rev limiter from what I read) with 2000 502 Mag MPI's and 2000 Bravo One's, speed was 64.8 MPH GPS.
Tried 4 blade labed Spinelli's 24P from "cowlis" and hit 67.4MPH GPS still reved 5000. Bought them from him then and there! I concluded it was underproped, and BTW I am no expert, this is just my experience.

Boat 1994 Cigarette 35' Cafe Racer 10,000# no mods.

I noticed that the drives seem to run hotter (more oil in drive oil expansion tank) but I have received my fathers day present in the for of Simrek Drive showers that I will install tomorrow. I can keep you posted if you care Sling.

sling,

need to go down. get a 22 pitch four blade.

anytime you are adding blades you have to go down in pitch not up. if you had a 24 four blade and were going to a five you would use a 23 or 22 depending on the boat.

Sling,
Is this for your 25 Outlaw? I've got the same boat with 496HO.
Max horsepower on that engine is at 5000.

A labbed 24 B1 is ideal for most of your running around. It planes great with all loads and runs well in the mid-range. Little too much stern lift for max speed, however.

For max speed, I've found a labbed 25 Mirage works best. It really picks the boat out of the water. I have one that was cut down in diameter slightly and labbed with additional cupping and it runs great. Not the best planer, though.

FYI, Mine came equipped with a 23P Mirage Plus also...I've been running the 25 described above for a while now. It planes like the stock 23 did, lowered my mid-range rpms and improved my top end.

But I would still prefer a 4-blade for when I have a fully-loaded boat. One thing at a time, though.....
