I don't know the boat, but I don't think the broker does either. I don't believe it has a 7' beam. And, I may be wrong, but I don't think a top speed of 20k is right either.

Price does seem right though.

Yeah but was the 29 with "twin mercs with total hp of 250"'s dryweight only 5000 lbs.? I think not, sounds like someone doesn't know the boat.

LutzParty,

My 26' weighs 4800 lbs dry with a single. That might give you an idea on how to guage the weight of that boat.

I found 2 1997 29' Scarabs with single 502s in them for around 39k if you are interested. I found them both to be REAL clean and well cared for. Let me know if you want the contact info.

I actually went to look at that boat about 2 months ago. I would have made an offer on it already if my boat would have sold, but unfortunately, it has not.
If you don't mind the bottom paint, that boat looked to be in pretty good shape. Only has about 180-190 hours. Cabin looked to never have been used.
The boat also isn't in Lebanon - it's on Long Beach Island in Barnegat Light. Supposedly, the owner lost his slip and isn't buying another boat.

Why do people put bottom paint on a performance boat? No only does it slow the boat down, it looks terrible. Good price though.

if i were you i would find one at the lake and go for a ride i believe you will be disapointed. We had a 94 with a 502 efi 415hp it ran around 65 but did not handle the rough water at loto at all to narrow of a beam and to light of a boat. just my .02

Thanks for the responses, I thought the weights and power looked a bit wack. Thats why i called on the OSO experts.

As you all might have guessed we are in the market for a boat. 28 and up single or twins prefferably twins, stock and room for a dancing pole.

Because where my boat is kept (My parent's waterfront house) a lift is out of the question. And when you've gotten used to the boat being in the water, ready to go at any time, trailering starts to seem like too much of a hassle.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't go out and buy a brand new performance boat and paint it. But, I would make a low offer on something like this Scarab being that it is painted. That way, I don't feel guilty about being the one who did it to the boat.
As someone said above, if I was going to be trailering, there are a couple 29 Scarabs out there for only a few thousand more than this one that have trailers and no paint.
