I am looking for a dealer/dist. that has the thin mirror Plexi Glass in purple. I am going to put it in the engine comp. and can't find any local person who has it or where to get it?

You can get plastic mirror at home depot. I don't know about purple though. You could prolly use purple window tint on it.?

I actually found two places that have it, one in NY and A&G Plastics in Houston. They have about 8 colors to choose from, its actually made from "Lucite" I think thats a Dupont Knock off???

A&G is sending me samples of the purple and blue.

4X8 Sheet Purple $141, Blue $116

Now I need to choose what color, my boat is Purple, Lipstick "pink", and Yellow, But the 500 is Blue?????

"clear" mirror plex is aroind $75 for a 4'x8'.

Be sure to use rubber washers beneath the screw heads and between the plex and a hard surface. Otherwise it WILL crack.

GE silicone caulk is good to put a thick bead in S shapes between it also. The GE isn't too hard to remove if you need to, and it keeps the plex from developing harmonic vibrations that can also cause it to crack.

Thanks for the input, I think I am going to try the 3M two sided tape to hold it? If that doesn't hold then I will drill, and use rubber spacers.

2-sided cellophane or paper tape will hold until it gets warm and gasoline vapors loosen it up. It will then fall on top of your motor.

The 2-sided FOAM tape is a better bet. Like anything else, surface prep with solvent will maximize the tape's bond. Butyl rubber tape with acrylic adhesive works well also.

I would have a difficult time trusting the "normal" 2-sided tape, though.
