Default What should I have to pay for a cockpit cover?

I got a price on a cockpit cover and the price is double what I thought I could get it done for. I'll tell you later what the bid was.

I like the guy and I think he will do a great job. I've seen a lot of his work, it's all top notch.
I'm going with Sunbrella material , It will have to be cut, 8.5'x17'. The front half of the snaps are already in place. My old cover just covered the cockpit not the engine cover.

I've got staggered engines so my engine cover is 6' long. I'm trying to at least get him to through in a Super Hawaii logo trown in on the deal.

Any ideas on what this should cost?

Thanks
Mark

The one that came with the Outlaw was about $1500...But then again that was Marine Max's inflated price so I am not sure of a price on a custom one.

The guy that made the cover for my 302 Formula quoted me $375 with Sunbrella. He did a fantastic job on my cover.

I priced a replacement Sunbrella cockpit cover for my Wellcraft 23 Nova. All 3 prices I got were similar- around $475- $500.

Maybe I need to shop around a little. I got a price of $1500. Although, there is an outlaw stored near mine, this guy showed me a couple of things he would do better and my cover will have to be about 4' longer. I don't know if the Outlaw's was factory or not.
