Bravo Sportmasters without cavitation plates?

Bravo Sportmasters without cavitation plates?

I just had a pair installed on a 36 Skater and haven't put the little cavitation plates on yet. Has anyone tried running without them? The prop shafts are 2 inches above the bottom.
