I am wondering if anyone has designed and or used an airation tube on a black hawk drive to ease planing. It seems I have so much dam bite now that planing has become a task in itself. I thought getting the props to hook up was going to be tough, I was way wrong. Getting them to loosen their grip so I can build some rpm is the problem now. I was thinking of trying a 1 1/2" tube and feeding the leading prop. Any ideas or suggestions/experiences?

I've heard of it being done, but I havn't ever seen it. Somebody made the parts for the job. I'm thinking that it was Teague.

Did you put the BlackHawks on with the proper X-dim, or did you bolt them on in the stock Bravo location?

What pitch BlackHawk props are you using? What type of power does your motor have?


Do you have thru hull exhaust?

The Blackhawk drives are designed to be used with thru-prop exhaust. The exhaust from your engine is supposed to aerate the props. If you look at the way the exhaust exits the drive, it is designed to aerate the props. If you are using thru hulls, and it is set too deep (X-dim) that might be a small part of your problem.

Well,it seems that my airation system worked well. The props loosened up and now the boat planes easily. If your interested,I can tell you how I did it.
