Hp 500 With Aluminum Heads
#4
I PUT DART PRO 1 ALUM HEADS ON MY 500 HP'S AND THEY RAN GREAT.I USED THE SMALL RUNNER SIZE. I WAS TOLD TO MILL HEADS DOWN FOR MORE COMPRESSION BUT I DIDNT WANT TO MILL NEW HEADS. I CAN NOT TELL ANY HP LOSS BUT ENGINES RUN MUCH COOLER,AND IM VERY HAPPY.U CAN CALL CP IN CAL. HE CAN BUILD THEM WITH ALL THE GOOD VALVES AND SET UP THE VALVE PRESSURE. TALK TO MIKE MAYS TELL HIM I SENT YOU. 1-800-225-9871 RON BENDER

Hey Taz why do you yell all the time on this board ?? do you need a new key board that the cap key is not stuck on ?? We can start a B-Max TAZ help fund and get you a key board if needed ????
Good Post though ,I would have cut the heads you lost compression and heat ,both make power I'm told

The problem is that you always want to design a total package, and if you add heads that will give you speed now then if you add a blower you would be better off with differnt heads . you need small port heads now and try by doing this to keep the fuel, air velocity high and got to at least 9.to 1 comp. if not alittle higher and you should gain speed ,as taz said he lost heat and heat is H.P. also angle cut heads to raise comp. and a cam change would really really help.
but if next year you want to add a blower you need big volume heads and 8.75 to 0 to 1 comp depending on weight of boat and cam and heads ect.
sorry I hope this was clear if not let me know
