I have a clarion xmd head unit and a Phoenix Gold qx-180 on my mids and a Rockford bd 1000 on my subs, the mids are mb quart component marine, I blow the capacitors in the crossovers every weekend, and I replced the crossovers today and it worked better, but when turned up to a high level its like the highs go away, do you think this is an amp problem, I'm stumped

Where are your gains set at?

5/8 to 3/4, I just ordered a rockford 501x I hope it fixes the prob

There is a huge performance difference in the 551X and the 851X. I highly recommend the 851x if you plan on playing loud. As always, any OSOer can private me if you want a deal.
