Default Trailer cost!!

I was talking to a trailer builder a few weeks ago. He was telling me that the aluminum I-Beams used to make trailers cost $30.00 a foot!!!

I now understand why some dealers take huge boats and put them on dinky little trailers like this one:

The aluminum I-Beams end right at the rear wheel. The last 5 feet of boat is hanging off the end only supported by bunks. There is no doubt that trailer is a 29/31 that just had longer bunks put on it to save money.

Very hard to tell from the pic but I imagine that there is structural elements that run to the transom. It wouldn't be just a wood bunkrail IMHO

You could be right. Nonetheless, I’m looking at the fact that the rear tire is under the rear bench seat vs. under the engines. That’s why I think the trailer is a 29/31. Oh well, who cares. It’s just that I might be in the market for a new trailer so I’ve become very “trailer aware”.

Its a 33' Outlaw, bad pic but the trailer is a Magic Tilt. That boat belongs to my friend Brian. He lives about 10 miles from me and that trailer is all over the road!! I was nervous one day following him up the freeway to Conroe.
What makes the trailer a POS?

Size?
Brand?
Setup?

I keep saying that the trailer in that pic is for a 29/31.
