Question mufflers

Look for a pair of mufflers, Clamp on, on tips already thru the tramsom. 4" dia. Want to be full time, no additional parts, just mufflers. Any ideas on a good pair, and a good price?

Chapest would be the insert type, available from CP performance, Eddie Marine, etc. They also muffle well, but can cost some HP on bigger engines.

I have a set of Gil clamp-on externals (see in pic). Not quite as much muffling, think they were around $800 per pair when I got them several years ago.

Look into Bassett mufflers, they will slip into your 4" hose they are about 8" long and cause almost no power loss, I had slip in type from Rex Marine, lost 200 RPM
Jim
If you are intrested in the Slip in ones you can have them for $40 + shipping

I lost almost 2mph (GPS) going with the slip in's . If you really need some sound reduction they will work but cost you some HP....

I run the Drew Shotguns and they work great for my application. My exhaust exit under water and the Shotguns nearly silence the exhaust at idle. At cruise and WOT they really don't do much, but they don't hurt performance. They can be adjusted so they reduce noise, but then there is a slight performance loss.

The Drew shotguns work great. Simply, reliable, and easy install.
