Default Insurance, Liability only

Are there any companies that will write just liability coverage on a boat? I was looking for this a few years ago and thought I would try again since I just need liability coverage.

How about a Liability umbrella policy to cover you in the boat or in many other situations! Just a thought!

I was able to add the Whaler to my homeowners for free, however they will not let me add the 41 Velocity. I'm going to check out progressive.

We have a liability only policy for our 22 Pachanga. Got it through our agent that handles our auto and home owners. Short money, 100.00 /yr

Mr. Velocity,

Check your neighboring states. I live on Oklahoma but insure my boat through a Kansas agency. I think my liab. insurance runs about $140 - $150 per year through progressive.......although I might have mis-understood their question on the total HP of the boat.........maybe.....I.....ya, I think I told them the total HP of PORT engine only.

not to knock this thread but arent you guys concerned about theft?
i assume a liabilty policy wouldnt cover it.
hitting a log and buyng an outdrive seams like a reasonable risk but theft?

you lose EVERYTHING

No boats (least not yet) stolen in the marina where I keep mine. Really don't here of any on Grand stolen from the marinas, maybe once in a blue moon. If I had a concern with liab. coverage it would be my stupidity in sinking it or fire. Rates are so outrageous on my boat, I choose to gamble considering to market value on my boat.

lotoparty, I see you are from Lees Summit. I'm meeting about 9 guys from Lees Summit at LOTO this weekend. We will be at Party Cove Saturday. Will we see you there?
