ok i have apair of CMI elbow tops and becasue of teh down turn in the elbow the tailpipes are to low and are below the holes in the transom. (i don't have s "stardard" exhaust location)
Do stardard stellings (the ones that looks like CMI big tubes) not have adown turn like the CMIs? Are the tips of the headers/collectors (where the tailpipe fit on) parallel with the mounting flanges taht bolt to the heads?
Is the downturn needed to meet with a standard bravo setup taken care of in the tailpipe?
In other words can I use a slightly downturned (or straight) tailpipes instead of the big downturned pipes to meet up with my above normal high exhuast tips?
To give you an idea of teh dimension If i coudl rig up a straight tailpipe directily out eth transom from teh tip of my CMI elbowtops the dimesions would fit (and maybe not revert H2O. Unfortunaly i don't have straigh pipes and i'd have to cut the tips of the headers and put a custom flange on them and there still might not be enough down angle to keep the water from getting sucked back up, especially at idle or while flushing it on the trailer.

i already have two sets of tailpipes taht will get me close but ti make them fit i will have to modify the tips of the collectors and weld on a set of custom flanges I had made. I don't really like the idea of modifying my nice shiny CMIs. If the stellings will fit without modification that would be perfect (i found a pair pretty cheap).
I'll post some pics later on.

If you can get ahold of the Merc paper transom template and find out were the holes are, and your cmi's are stock elbow tops you can easily get a set of tailpipes made that will fit for less then a set of stellings and tailpipes. Stainless Marine will do a set for you among others. Do not go to CMI...they are lousey at getting them right. Took me 3 tries.

well ig ot aprice back one thstelling teh price is pretty damn good I think imight just go with them. I already have 2 sets of CMI tailpipes so i figure between the CMI headers and the tailpipes i shdoul be able to cover eth cost of the stellings headers.
from the pics it looks like they should fit.

Stelling Headers are custom fit to your boat, and to have them done, you need to take your boat with motor(s) to Fresno Ca. to Stellings shop, by the old Sanger factory. They fit like a condom, and when you see them you may need one. Since they are double jacketed stainless, each header weighs about 60 - 75 lbs or at least a couple hundred for twins. You ain't seen anything like it... makes ya squirt. Took about 2 weeks to fit and build this set for twin BBC's in a Warlock.... and a smooth $10,000.00 to outfit both motors, so guessing isn't an option. Below are links (if they work) to the ones I got, and they work as good as they look...

those look pretty slick. The ones i found look different than your's. Which is a godo thing because your's seem to be down turned for bravo (which won't work for me). SO it woudl seem eth ones ifoudn will indeed work.
