Hey all you Chicago folk........I am heading up (most likely) to a friend's place for the weekend, and ofcourse I am bringing my boat.

Where do you guys hang out and where should I go and what ramps should I use or avoid...and etc...

Basically, any info would be great. He is not a boater, so I'm not sure whether he would know alot of this. He said the big lake is the place to be.

Hammond Marina is having Venetian Night this Saturday. It sounds like a great time. It will be my first. If your in that part of the lake stop by. I'm at slip W009.

Hammond has a steep narrow but good launch ramp. I'm sure it will be busy this weekend.

What part of town will you be in?

Hammond has great Fireworks for there Venetian night. There are also Fireworks at Navy Pier on Saturday night. Just North of Navy Pier is the "Play Pen" where there have been some good rafting parities on the weekends. There was an article on this in this past Sundays Tribune section Q.
