With the help of a volunteer from OSO (NEVRENUFF), we have proven that the Rtech supercooler makes more power than a regular intercooler on the dyno. We have an in water boat test scheduled that will demonstrate the same result. Both of these situations have been or will be published in a magazine.
We have a triple Rtech supersystem installation (with Vortech superchargers) planned for the fall that will hopefully be published as well. But this will be an in water test. What we don't have is a straightforward install and dyno test of the Rtech supersystem.
The ideal candidate would be an HP500 carb engine that has had nothing done to it other than a recent freshening with rings, bearings and valve springs. If you were thinking of installing a centrifugal supercharging system and are willing to yank the engine out of your boat, I will give you a big discount on the complete system and pay for the dyno time. Complete system includes modified carb, Vortech air filter assembly and Aeromotive fuel pump/regulator.
Because I live in Toronto, I'm looking for someone in the northeast. Dyno testing would be at Dean Nickerson's near Philadelphia or Tyler Crockett's near Detroit. You would be responsible for getting your engine to the dyno test and paying Dean or Tyler for the installation.
We pulled 740 HP out of a Procharged 454 with a small M-1 blower and a small Rtech supercooler prototype. On an HP500 we expect to exceed 800 HP with the larger Vortech V-7 blower and the much larger Rtech supercooler described on another thread.
This is not BS. I've already followed through on a similar offer to test the supercooler alone. Now I want to do the same thing for the entire system. Call me if you're interested at (416) 709-8714.
Thanks,
Tom

Tomcat,
A couple things, I would like to run my setup the way it is now for a base line. Then your intercooler combo with my M-1 and finally your vortech-7. Will that vortech support 15 psi with a pulley change? (future use) Which procharger is it equivilent to..m1 m3 m4?
How much will tyler charge? My motor will be out to repair an oil leak anyway which is a plus. Which month are you thinking? Id prefer oct-apr. Greg

Hi Greg - Hmmm ... that's an interesting idea. I know we are getting off the M-1's compressor map based on the low efficiencies I calculated from NEVRENUFF's test. Based on the charge air temperatures we measured, the M-1 was working at about 61%. At the same HP and boost (CFM and pressure ratio) the V-7 compressor map says 73%. Your three stage test will be a good test of the HP gained by moving up to a larger compressor.
The V-7 is comparable to the M-3, and will deliver 1000 HP worth of air at whatever boost your cylinder heads etc. create.
I will talk to Tyler again now that we are homing in on a date. You need to know the installation cost, and since a three stage test is going to add at least one more day in the dyno room, I need to know those costs too.
I'm thinking October for this test. Since Tyler writes for Hot Boat I'm going to see if the magazine would be interested in publishing an article about this test.
